Imagine the late 60s. New York City. Warhol and Nico in The Factory. Now you step into their world, their life, their style: a world where art and reality meet, generating colour synergies on the big screen, in film and light. New art forms, new approaches, a new world. Wild ideas, strong personalities, and the desire to live and express oneself – a new era in painting, music and fashion takes shape.
This period with its outstanding icons and celebrities has inspired Part Two's design mana-ger Pernille Skriver and her team to create the 2007 Winter Collection. Classics from the late 60s, A-shaped, voluminous sleeves, cocoon effect, pleats, layer upon layer of colours in scrumptious, luxurious tones: white, grey, camel, off-white with a bliss of purple. From the 60s and the start of the 70s we find elements of burnt colours, such as burnt orange.
Trousers have been given a high waist; patterns and cut are very mens-fashion-inspired – available in wool, cotton mix and light-grey leather trousers. Or pin-striped, narrow trouser legs – like The Beatles. Casual flannel, checked knickers, easy baggy - and shorts with turn-ups, styled with Part Two ribbed knee stockings in grey melange.
This year’s “little black number” is A-shaped – and has a bit of a Twiggy look about it with large mock pockets and clear seams. Remember to dress it up with a long-sleeved, grey turtleneck – and once again knee stockings for a clean, challenging look.
Party elements with a loose silhouette with pleats and drapings that lend volume to the dress. Patterns are graphic 60s and some are inspired by classic wearing patterns as dog tooth and herringbone weaving. As a special feature, the party-inspired element of the collection features knitted elements; pleated knit tops with bows of velvet and satin.
Another highlight of the collection is the gorgeous coat with the luxurious collar: a fusion of an A-shaped and an Audrey Hepburn Classic with large black buttons – wool in off-white with a 60s mega, black, dog-tooth pattern. Extra-long scarves that can be made into a bow tie. Finally, we should not forget the grey leather bags, draped, elasticated with decorative and practical pocket details. Leather gloves that match the coat with 3/4 length sleeves – i.e. extra-long gloves.
The style and thrill of the wild Warhol era is perfectly captured by Part Two. Join us – for Winter 2007 – It begins with you.
