Part Two Press Release Autumn 2007
CONTRASTING EXTREMES TO GIVE EXPRESSIONS
Once again, Part Two’s Design Manager Pernille Skriver has played around with contrasts. The collection draws inspiration from the 80s power suiting, sultry secretary, clear colours and voluminous tops mixed with the 90s grunge in a new and sophisticated way. Add to that inspiration from Celtic ornamentation, rural checks and you have a melting pot of contrasting silhouettes and details that produces a cool and fashionable look. Enjoy elements of autumn 2007 by Part Two!
A cool, elegant jacket in black, long-haired sheepskin with biker details as zippers and press buttons outclasses the traditional fur coat. The 80s sweatshirt-look is renewed in knitwear; cardigans with classic bird eyes, oversized and garment dyed. Volume on the top and slim legs wearing leggings or new coated jeans with biker zippers at the feet: it's like taking the best from the 80s rock scene. Colours are black and charcoal, contrasted against the super-clear 80s cobalt blue and shocking red.
Sophisticated tie-scarves sensually covering the neck, floating see-through silk shirts styled with turtle neck tops and cool high-waisted pants in a classic pleated gents cut evoke the image of the sultry secretary; but this season she’s her own boss. The power suit jacket with extra length styled with raw biker leather pants cast it’s reminiscent of the rock’n’roll of the 80s. Metal chains, very heavy, very strong to emphasise the styling.
The grunge style is all about mixing fabrics and silhouettes. To give it a new expression for 2007, Part Two has updated this look in a more sophisticated way using fabrics naturally ruched by metal threads in the weaving to create the unpretentious look of the 90s. Flannel pants, also classic loose gents cut and an interesting touch of Celtic-inspired prints and checks. Combine this with wrapped capes and oversized knitwear in luxury qualities such as cashmere, silk and wool.
A large variety of coats for late fall; capes, military coats in wool or as a combat coat in twill/canvas trimmed with metal zippers and press buttons. This time, ruched fabric makes its appearance in a voluminous trench coat. As a refreshing contrast to the dark coloured collection, a short wool pea coat in shocking red or checks makes the autumn a lot brighter.
Finally, Part Two has a contemporary new collection of bags - biker styled with zips and press buttons in coated denim and washed leather as well as the ultra urban cocoon bag with clear references to the 80s.
Sophisticated extremes. Mix it. Style it. Wear it. It's The Part Two definition of early autumn. And it begins with you.
